your surgery or procedure, you will have an opportunity to meet
and speak with your anesthesiologist, the doctor who will ensure
your comfort. At that time, he or she will answer all your questions.
You will be given medication to keep you from feeling pain or
discomfort. There are four types of anesthesia:
- For minor surgery, local anesthesia will numb the surgical
site
- Regional anesthesia will numb one region of your body
- Monitored Anesthesia Care will make you drowsy or put you
into a light sleep
- General anesthesia will put you completely to sleep
